Yes Jenni I have heard of Certolizumab. It is used for Crohns disease as well as Rheumatoid Disease. Research has shown that it can have some benefit after just one week. From what I have read it is better tolerated than other Anti-TNF drugs. I wish you every success with it, and I will send you loads of positive thoughts that it will work.
Don't let the fear take over, you are so suffering so much physically, this drug has just got to work for you Jenni. Everyone is behind you.....
With love Rebecca

hi all, thanks so much for your kind words of support.
had a dreadful night with bernice, she was being sick from 11pm. by 1.30 and her not even keeping water down I rang NHS direct and asked if I could give her diaraolite and I could but she was so sick and covered in a rash they ambulanced her into hospital.
We have not slept really. dr saw her and decided that she had a virus, sent her home- her sore throat is making her gag. No throat swab. the rash is to do with the virus. I suspect she has tonsilitus again.
Mum has bernice for a couple of hrs this afternoon so I can rest. she is taking her to our GP as she still has a high temperature.
I spent last night terrified of getting a tummy bug (because of the addisons) if I was on the new anti-tnf, I would have been terrified of getting her sore throat and ending up in the next bed within hours. I just dont know if I can do this with children at home. They will get things and I will catch them. It really is not a clear decision for me at all.
It would be lovely to go out more, even have a holiday abroad, perhaps have a part time job or something. I cant do these things now, I certainly couldn't without any drugs.
Mum says, with Bernice now being older she could go to a child minder and I could use the care money more for me personally, I will have to reapply for full time daily support I think.
I had my first session of post adoption counseling today, it went really well and I think she will be helpful in getting me and Richard to put our lives back together now we are parenting Gems from a distance.
Love to all

Oh Jenni love - poor little lady and poor you having no sleep. Hoping and praying she is feeling much much better today. Glad your Mum has taken her to the GP. Maybe he can prescribe something to ease her tum and help her throat. It must have been very frightening for all of you having yet another trip to hospital.
Of couse it's not a clear-cut decision for you, Jenni. No-one can really advise you - you have to go with your gut instinct and the answer to your prayers.
Along with everyone on here, we will continue to pray for you all.
MUCH love Jeanxxxxx

Oh Jenni, I'm so sorry to hear Bernice is ill on top of everything else, my heart goes out to you. It's very understandable that you are scared, anyone in your position would be, but I'm sure the hospital will be monitoring you very closely.
I'll be rooting for you and sending positive vibes and thoughts to you over the next few weeks.
Love Lyn

Hi Jenni, what a night!! glad your mum is taking Bernice to the gp, hopefully if its the tonsillitis she can have antibiotics, I know she will still be throwing up, but its something to get started on. My daughter used to get it alot when she was young. I understand about your worries with the new drug, and having children around who catch everything. i so wish there was a simple answer for you, and that you could get meds that work with no problems. I so hope you can get the meds your need, and the relief you deserve. Thinking of you, love Barb x BARBARA

Jenni, everyone else has said it really. Of course you're scared, but you'll be in the right place to be monitored carefully and we'll all be thinking of you and sending you good vibes and gentle cyber hugs.
Poor Bernice. Hope she's soon better, Jenni, you don't need to be worrying about her as well as everything else.

Dear Jenni,
I am sure that you will make a good, informed decision when you have spoken to the doctor, based on all the information you will ensure that you are given. As well as info, you are astute enough to go with intuition as well. No one but you can decide so all I can do is hope that you are guided well.
Hope that you get antibiotics for Bernice as it sounds as if she needs them.
Eleanor x

Just to say I agree totally with everything Eleanor has said. You are a very intelligent young woman and will not rush into any decisions.
Take care
